Confirmatory information processing after decisions. Confirmatory information processing (selective exposure, biased assimilation) means the phenomenon that people tend to prefer information that is consistent to a previously made decision, while contradicting information is typically neglected. I am mainly interested in the various factors that influence the magnitude of individuals’ inclination to confirmatory information processing as well as in the neuropsychological correlates of the phenomenon (using EEG and fMRI).
