Does learning make you intelligent? How does creativity arise? What are the effects of different leadership styles? Aljoscha Neubauer, Professor of Differential and Personality Psychology at the University of Graz, deals with such questions. The psychologist was awarded the Franz Emanuel Weinert Prize 2024 by the German Psychological Society (DGPs) for his top-class research on the one hand and his "outstanding commitment to communicating scientific findings to the public and the education system" on the other. According to the jury, his innovative studies on the neuronal basis of differences in intelligence have provided groundbreaking insights for psychology. In addition, his public appearances have "corrected misconceptions about intelligence and talent" and demonstrated the benefits of psychological research, for example for career choices.
The DGPs awards the prize every two years to psychologists who have made an outstanding contribution to the field.
