Vortrag: New Tricks for Old Dogs - General processing tree (GPT) models

Abstract:

General processing tree (GPT) models are a special family of statistical models that can be graphically represented in the form of a tree structure. They are particularly suitable for analyzing categorical observations in social sciences and psychology. Prof. Hu will talk about the history and past research as well as applications of GPT models before introducing some of their current extensions. He will further demonstrate the application of GPT models and will show how to make use of these "old dogs” to test different types of hypotheses in experiments.
